XL4015E1 inverter – 0-5A – 0.8-30V – current and voltage regulation – battery charger

Step-Down converter XL4015E1 5A – which reduces the input voltage of 5-32V to a lower voltage adjustable by a potentiometer from 0.8V to 30V.

  • The 36V 5A XL4015 DC-DC converter module is a versatile step-down power supply module featuring stepless adjustment of voltage and output current with precision potentiometers.
  • The module’s functions are indicated by LEDs, making it easy to monitor its operating status.
  • It can be used as a driver for LEDs (CCD LED driver), an efficient Li-Ion battery charger or a voltage stabilizer with current protection.
  • It is used to power any circuit with input voltage from 5 to 30V i.e.: DIY projects, arduino modules, raspberry, detectors, sensors, microcontrollers, LED lighting (current diode control!) etc.
  • Set the output voltage according to the packs to be charged, and the optimal battery charging current. After these procedures, you can connect the package to the inverter.
  • Two status LEDs indicate the charging process: the LED on the inside lights up when the battery is charged (significant current consumption), and the LED on the outside lights up when the battery is charged (minimal current consumption).

How to connect the XL4015E Inverter Module – has 4 screw connectors:

  • IN+ Input voltage – positive pole.
  • IN- Input voltage – negative pole (ground).
  • OUT+ Output voltage – positive pole.
  • OUT- Output voltage – negative pole (ground).
  • With an output power of more than 15W, it is recommended to equip the XL4015 controller with a heatsink, which can be added to the underside or attach a copper plate for better thermal contact.
  • To ensure proper operation of the inverter, the input voltage should be higher than the output voltage by at least 2V.
  • Correct polarity of the input voltage (IN+ ; IN -) is essential, and reverse connection can lead to damage to the inverter.
  • Adjustment of the output current is performed with a potentiometer located on the output side (OUT), and the output voltage – with a potentiometer on the input side (IN).
  • Clockwise rotation of multi-turn potentiometers increases values.
  • The LED next to the OUT terminal indicates the transition to CV mode (e.g., completion of battery charging), and the adjacent LED indicates CCD mode (e.g., charging in progress).
  • LED at the XL4015 circuit indicates activation of short circuit protection.
  • The colors of the LEDs may vary depending on delivery, but the inverter functions properly from 5.5V.
