Buffer power supply – Micro USB 1A charger

Micro USB charger with a maximum power of 1A for lithium-ion batteries. It has functions to work as a buffer power supply. This circuit will come in handy when building additional power sources (such as a power bank).

• It has protection that prevents the charging voltage from exceeding 4.2V, and also protects against over-discharge – 2.5V (under load). This is important because Li-Ion, Li-Pol batteries when overcharged, as well as over-discharged, can become damaged.

• The principle of operation is very simple: given a 5V INPUT power supply, the module charges the battery pack, and also this voltage appears at the output of the OUT+ and OUT- terminals. When this power supply is disconnected, the module provides power from the battery, so that the powered receiver will receive voltage all the time.

• A useful device especially when using alternative energy sources such as photovoltaic panels or wind turbines.

Product features

Possibility to adjust the battery charging current using the resistor marked R3 on the board. This will adjust the charging current to the capacity of our battery cell – 1A – 1.2 KOhm by default
